In the recent New York Times editorial, Professor and Associate Chair Reginald DesRoches in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, with Associate Professors Ozlem Ergun and Julie Swann in the Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering, describe the enormous obstacles still affecting Haiti's recovery efforts six months after the January 12th earthquake. The Op-Ed discusses their research and observations, debris removal, where clean-up efforts currently stand, and what needs to be done for Haiti to emerge from this catatrophe.
