Georgia Tech Ranks High Again on List of Nation's Top Civil and Environmental Engineering Undergrad Programs

U.S. News & World Report has released its 2024 list of the nation’s best undergraduate engineering programs, cementing the top tier reputation of civil and environmental engineering at Georgia Tech. 

For the third year in a row, both undergraduate programs were ranked in the top three, with civil engineering at No. 2 and environmental engineering at No. 3 in the nation.  

“It is an honor to see this pattern of top-three rankings for our undergraduate programs,” said Donald Webster, the Karen and John Huff Chair of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. “It is a testament to our innovative programming and the high caliber of students and faculty within our School.”

Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering is now ranked No. 3 in the nation, up from the No. 4 spot it occupied for the past seven years. The College shares the No. 3 spot in a tie with the University of California, Berkeley. Within the College of Engineering, 9 of the 10 undergraduate programs are ranked in the top five. Overall, Georgia Tech rose 10 spots to No. 34 in this year’s rankings.

U.S. News and World Report has highly ranked the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering for the past 20 years. During this time, undergraduate civil engineering has been ranked in the top five and undergraduate environmental engineering has been listed in the top 10 since the program was established at Georgia Tech in 2006.
