Dr. Jian Luo is a Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. He obtained a B.S. in 1998 and an M.S. in 2000 in Environmental Engineering from Tsinghua University. He received his Ph.D. in 2006 from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University. Dr. Luo joined the faculty of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2006. Dr. Luo has served as the Associate Editor for Water Resources Research and the Journal of Hydrology.
Dr. Luo’s research areas include field, theoretical, and computational investigations of flow and reactive transport in the subsurface; computational methods and models to assess subsurface contamination and to aid the optimal design of groundwater remediation; geostatistical methods and inverse modeling to estimate flow and transport parameters under uncertainty; coastal hydrogeology and seawater intrusion; and modeling of coastal urban flooding.
