Driving Directions
The campus Map may be helpful in orienting yourself on the Georgia Tech campus. Civil and Environmental Engineering has facilities in the following buildings:
- Mason Building (#111 on map)
- Sustainable Education Building (#145 on map)
- Engineering Science and Technology - ES&T (#147 on map)
- Daniel Laboratory (#22 on map)
- Structural Engineering and Materials Research Lab (#149 on map) (driving directions)
I-75/I-85 Northbound (Hartsfield International Airport)
1.) Take I-75 / I-85 North to Exit 249D (Peachtree street NW exit)
2.) Keep to the left and continue straight onto Linden Ave NW.
3.) Take the first left onto West Peachtree St. NW.
4.) Turn left onto North Avenue.
5.) Just past the I-75/I-85 bridge overpass turn right onto Techwood Drive.
6.) Turn left at the stop sign onto Ferst Street.
7.) Turn left at the light onto Atlantic Drive.
8.) The Mason Buildling and Sustainable Education Building are the second and third buildings, respectively, on the right.
Visitor parking for Mason and SEB can be reached by driving straight past Atlantic Drive and turning left into the Physics visitor parking lot.
Visitor parking for ES&T can be reached by continuing on Ferst Street to State Street, turning right onto State Street and parking in the North Parking Deck visitor parking.
The ES&T building can be reached by walking from the North Deck Parking south on Atlantic Drive. At the intersection with Eighth Street turn left. Walk to the top of the hill (~60yards), then go up the outdoor stairs to the courtyard. The ES&T building is on the left (on the right is the Institute of Bioscience & Bioengineering, IBB).
Note: there are several construction projects going on in this area.
I-75/I-85 Southbound
1.) Take I-75/I-85 South to the North Avenue exit (Number 249D).
2.) Turn right onto North Avenue.
3.) Immediately turn right onto Techwood Drive.
4.) Turn left at the stop sign onto Ferst Street.
5.) Turn left at the light onto Atlantic Drive.
7.) The Mason Buildling and Sustainable Education Building are the second and third buildings, respectively, on the right.

I-20
Follow I-20 east or west to exit 23 for I-75/I-85 North and following directions above.
To Structural Engineering & Materials Research Laboratory
625 Lambert St. Corner of North Avenue and Northside Drive

From I-75/85 South, get off at North Avenue and turn right. Then follow #3 below.

From I-75/85 North (like from airport) take Spring Street exit. Proceed across Spring St. to West Peachtree St. and turn left. Go one block to North Avenue and turn left. Then go to #3.

From downtown Atlanta, drive west on North Avenue. Proceed west with Georgia Tech on your right and Coke on your left. Go under CSX RR Bridge, get in your right-hand lane. Turn hard right at the first traffic light - that's Lambert St. There is a brick masonary & concrete building on the corner. The yellow (gold) and white metal "barn" is the Structures Lab. Ring bell at fence to have technicians open the gate.
