Dr. Rosenstein has been the Communications Specialist for the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the School Materials Science and Engineering since 1998. Under the direction of Dr. Rosenstein, the CEE/MSE communications program implements a new model of engineering education, one that directly links communication skills with course content. It does so by meaningfully integrating instruction on written, visual and oral communication into the engineering curriculum. At the undergraduate level, Dr. Rosenstein co-teaches or periodically lectures in existing engineering courses and provides teaching materials for her colleagues. At the graduate level she teaches her own specialized courses in engineering communication. Additionally, Dr. Rosenstein guides undergraduate students and student teams through written reports and oral presentations, helps graduate students prepare theses, dissertations and defenses, and assists faculty with academic publications. She periodically offers writing and presentation workshops to both students and faculty.
