Dr. Teizer interviewed by German news magazine Der Spiegel on research in the U.S.

The German news magazine Der Spiegel (which is the German equivalent to Time Magazine in the U.S.) interviewed School of Civil and Environmental Engineering Assistant Professor Jochen Teizer on the Dr. Jochen Teizerdifferences between Germany and the United States in terms of academic careers. The article reports on the recently established junior professor position in Germany, comparing it to an assistant professor position in the United States.

Since 2006, Dr. Jochen Teizer has served as an assistant professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology and director of the RAPIDS Construction Safety and Technology Laboratory (http://www.rapids.gatech.edu). His research is funded in part by the National Science Foundation (NSF), the Construction Industry Institute (CII), and the Georgia Department of Transportation. He currently supervises 11 doctoral students and has co-authored more than 25 journal publications and more than 60 conference proceedings.
