Research Interests: Numerical methods in earthquake engineering, nonlinear dynamic soil behavior, soil-structure interaction, scattering of seismic waves in heterogeneous media, inverse problems in geophysics

Burns,Susan Elizabeth - Associate Professor

Research Interests: Geoenvironmental engineering, engineered materials, physical and chemical behavior of soils, cone penetration testing, image analysis

Frost,J. David - Director of GT Savannah and Professor

Research Interests: Dr. Frost's research interests include engineering the behavior of soils under static and dynamic loading; digital image processing and analysis in geosystems engineering; spatial information systems in subsurface hazard assessment; and performance of soil-polymeric material composite systems.

Germanovich,Leonid - Professor

Research Interests: Properties of earth and extra-terrestrial materials, rock mechanics, fracture mechnanics, micro-mechanical modeling, geophysics, applied mathematical methods, mining and petroleum engineering, biomechanics

Huang,Haiying - Assistant Professor

Research Interests: Her research interests are mainly the geomechnics aspects of drilling, reservoir stimulation and production, in particular, slurry flow, fluid injection in granular media, hydraulic fracturing, rock indentation and cutting.

Mayne,Paul W - Professor

Research Interests: In situ testing, site characterization, foundation systems, soil properties determination, geostatic stress state, ground improvement by dynamic compaction and plasma arc vitrification.

Rix,Glenn J - Professor

Research Interests: Geotechnical earthquake engineering; dynamic properties of soils; non-destructive and non-invasive methods for site and material characterization in geotechnical and transportation engineering.

Santamarina,J. Carlos - Goizueta Foundation Faculty Chair and Professor

Research Interests: Particulate materials: fundametal behavior; engineered soils. Experimental approach: experimental micro-mechanics, wave-based process monitoring, inverse problems. Applications: geotechnical engineering, mining, and energy geomechanics.
