BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Stoesser is particularly interested in the numerical modeling of turbulence in fluid flow and he has developed advanced CFD models to simulate fluid flow in complex geometries using LES and RANS methodologies.

Dr. Stoesser is an Assistant Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta. GA. He received his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Bristol, UK, in 2002 and earned his Dipl.-Ing. (M.S.) in Civil Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe, Germany, in 1999. Dr. Stoesser joined the faculty in 2006 after a postdoctoral research position at the Institute for Hydromechanics at the University of Karlsruhe. His research interests span a broad range of topics in computational fluid dynamics, open-channel hydraulics and environmental fluid mechanics.
