Computational mechanics; nonlinear structural analysis; damage mechanics; constitutive models; micromechanics of composite materials; fracture mechanics; nonlinear finite elements; and artificial neural networks in engineering applications.

BRIEF BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Rami Haj-Ali earned his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) in 1996. Dr. Haj-Ali has published over 100 research papers and technical reports, including over 40 papers in archival journals. His research interests include Computational Mechanics, Nonlinear and damage modeling of composite materials and structures, Micromechanics and Constitutive Modeling, and Artificial Neural-Networks in Engineering Applications. Dr. Haj-Ali was awarded the National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER award (1999), the Chester P. Siess award for outstanding CEE graduate research at UIUC (1996), and a Magna Cum Laude from Tel-Aviv University (1989). He is a member of Sigma-Xi, ASCE, and ASME.
